Vallée des Oiseaux

Vallée des Oiseaux is a zoo and park in central Agadir that extends along a dry riverbed with multiple walking routes. The facility houses several animal species within its grounds and provides pathways for visitors to navigate through.

The zoo was established in the years following the destructive 1960 earthquake that required the city's reconstruction. It became part of the efforts to rebuild Agadir and add new public spaces to the recovering city.

Today it functions as a gathering place where residents and visitors spend time outdoors together while watching animals. People use the pathways for walking and relaxing, especially during the cooler parts of the day.

Entry is free and the facility can be accessed from different points depending on where you approach from. Staff members are available to help visitors and can provide animal feed for those who wish to interact more directly with the residents.

The facility houses unusual species for North Africa, including kangaroos and alpacas that have adapted to the local climate. These animals from distant continents often capture the attention of visitors who would not encounter them in the wild.
