LxMarket, Marketplace in Lisbon, Portugal
LxMarket is a Sunday marketplace in Lisbon, Portugal, held on the main street of the Lx Factory complex in the Alcântara neighborhood. The stalls line the street and offer clothing, accessories, ceramics, vintage objects, and handmade crafts.
LxMarket started as a traveling market that moved around different locations in Lisbon, including Parque das Nações. Over time it settled at the Lx Factory, a former textile mill complex dating to the late 19th century.
LxMarket takes place every Sunday inside the Lx Factory, a former industrial complex in Lisbon that now houses studios, cafés, and design shops. People come as much to walk around and chat as they do to buy something.
The market runs on Sundays, generally from morning to early evening, and is easy to walk through. Coming earlier in the day gives you a better look at the full range of stalls before crowds build up in the afternoon.
On the same Sundays, a separate farmers market called Lx Rural runs alongside LxMarket, with growers from across Portugal selling fresh produce, bread, and spices directly to shoppers. The two markets share the same grounds but feel very different from each other.
