Staré Město

Staré Město is a municipality in Uherské Hradiště District nestled within agricultural land and gently rolling terrain. The settlement features historical buildings, most notably the Church of Saint Michael, and connects to regional transportation networks.

The settlement developed in an area that was part of the Great Moravian Empire during the early medieval period. Written records first mention the place in the 12th century, with the later establishment of Velehrad monastery shaping the region's development.

The Church of Saint Michael displays remains of a Great Moravian rotunda, allowing visitors to experience early religious architecture from that period. These structures show how the settlement's spiritual life took shape during medieval times.

The municipality is accessible by the main I/55 road connecting regional cities and by several railway lines serving the area. Visitors should plan ahead since this is a rural location where amenities are limited and opening hours may vary.

The KOVOZOO entertainment complex displays sculptures made from recycled industrial materials, offering an unexpected form of outdoor art in the rural setting. The site blends creative reuse of discarded metal with educational exhibits about environmental awareness.
