Hřensko

Hřensko is a small borderland village where the Kamenice and Elbe rivers meet, surrounded by forested hills and deep valleys within Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The settlement connects to Germany via two border crossings that serve both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

The village began as a trading post in the 15th century and grew through river commerce and timber work. These economic activities shaped the place throughout its development.

The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk stands at the heart of the village and draws visitors with its late Baroque design. Its presence and style reflect how the community once organized its religious life around this building.

Both border crossings are easily reached and allow visitors to move between Czech Republic and Germany without difficulty. Budget extra time for border checks, especially at busy times.
