Queen Anne's Summer Palace, Renaissance palace in Royal Garden, Prague, Czech Republic

The rectangular summer palace features an arcade gallery around its perimeter, with 36 columns crowned by Tuscan capitals and 114 relief decorations.

Ferdinand I commissioned the palace's construction between 1538 and 1560 for his wife Anne Jagiellonica, though she passed away before its completion.

The palace serves as an exhibition space for fine and applied arts, contributing to Prague's cultural landscape through various artistic displays.

Located at Mariánské hradby 52/1 in Prague, visitors can reach the palace through the Royal Garden entrance near Prague Castle.

Emperor Rudolf II transformed the first floor into an astronomical observatory where scientist Tycho Brahe conducted his research.

Secret locations in Prague

Prague contains numerous historical sites beyond the main tourist areas. The Vyšehrad fortress stands above the Vltava River with Gothic and Baroque architecture. The Vrtba Garden displays terraced landscaping from the 18th century. The Strahov Monastery holds medieval manuscripts in its libraries. Modern culture thrives at Kasárna Karlín, a former military base. Gardens like Wallenstein and Kinský offer green spaces with statues and ponds. Religious buildings include the modernist St. Wenceslas Church in Vršovice and the Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn.
