Teplice Castle Garden

Teplice Castle Garden is a large park surrounding a former fortress with two ponds linked by maintained pathways through tree-lined spaces. The castle building itself now houses a regional museum displaying local history and collections.

A queen founded a Benedictine convent here in the 12th century, which later transformed into a Renaissance castle during different periods of rule. This change reflects how the site evolved from religious use to a private noble residence.

The garden displays historical clocks, Chinese artifacts, and regional pottery that reveal how people lived and what they valued across different periods. Walking through, you can sense the eclectic tastes of those who shaped this place into a collection of their interests.

The park is easy to explore on foot, with clear, well-maintained paths throughout the grounds. The museum inside the castle provides shelter on rainy days and allows you to spend several hours here comfortably.

An artificial island built in 1841 sits in the upper pond and shapes how the landscape appears from the pathways. A wooden boat quay reconstructed to match the 1870 original still stands nearby, hinting at the water activities that once drew visitors here.
