Královecký Špičák

Královecký Špičák is a summit in Královec composed of phonolite, a volcanic rock with rough, textured surfaces ideal for climbing. The steep slopes display natural cracks and ledges that make the terrain interesting for rope work.

The area was once known by the German name Königshayn when German-speaking communities lived here and shaped its character. Over time, names and settlement patterns shifted due to major political changes.

The name comes from a Czech word meaning king, reflecting the area's past importance. Rock climbers form a tight community here and gather regularly at the stone formations.

The best time to climb is from spring through fall when weather is stable and rocks are dry. A restaurant near the base provides refreshments, and access to the area is straightforward without major obstacles.

The mountain has a dedicated climbing area for children with color-marked routes where young beginners can safely learn basic techniques. This setup makes it a place where families discover climbing together.
