Technical Museum Tatra

The Technical Museum Tatra occupies a former foundry building in Kopřivnice and displays vehicles from the Tatra brand and related manufacturers. The collection features over 80 trucks and chassis, with a separate section dedicated to passenger cars located elsewhere in town.

The museum was established in 1997 and initially operated with private collections from automobile enthusiasts. In 2015, the Tatra company acquired an extensive private collection, significantly expanding and solidifying the institution.

The collection reflects how Tatra vehicles shaped Czech transportation and industry, showing the role this manufacturer played in the country's economic development. Visitors can observe how trucks and buses were integrated into daily life and commerce across different decades.

The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday and has two separate locations in Kopřivnice for different vehicle types. Plan ahead to identify which section you wish to visit, as the truck and passenger car collections are housed at different addresses across town.

The facility houses the Slovenské strely national monument, a significant memorial site connected to local history. Video displays in multiple languages provide detailed technical explanations for each vehicle type in the collection.
