The Technical Museum Tatra occupies a former foundry building in Kopřivnice and displays vehicles from the Tatra brand and related manufacturers. The collection features over 80 trucks and chassis, with a separate section dedicated to passenger cars located elsewhere in town.

The Regional Museum in Kopřivnice was founded in 1997 on the site of the earlier Tatra Technical Museum, as a non-profit association set up by the Tatra joint-stock company and the town. Its first exhibits came from the private collection of Emil Hanzelka, gathered from 1947, and a new exhibition pavilion was added in 1967. Since 2024 the collections have been split between two successor museums.

The collection reflects how Tatra vehicles shaped Czech transportation and industry, showing the role this manufacturer played in the country's economic development. Visitors can observe how trucks and buses were integrated into daily life and commerce across different decades.

The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday and has two separate locations in Kopřivnice for different vehicle types. Plan ahead to identify which section you wish to visit, as the truck and passenger car collections are housed at different addresses across town.

The train Slovenská strela stands outdoors, outside the museum buildings, giving the site something of an open-air museum character. Visitors may take photographs throughout and use interactive monitors to watch film footage. No guide is required; visitors move through the displays at their own pace and can rest on benches.
