Tatra Truck Museum, Truck museum in Kopřivnice, Czech Republic

The Tatra Truck Museum is an automotive museum in Kopřivnice housing around 80 trucks and chassis inside a former foundry building. The vehicles are displayed alongside engines, technical parts, and design drawings that show how they were developed.

The museum occupies a foundry built in 1911 for the Kopřivnice carriage works, later Tatra, and used for production until the end of the 20th century. In 2015 Tatra bought dozens of trucks from collector Jiří Hlach, whose lease in Trhové Sviny was ending. Reconstruction ran from March 2019 to December 2020, and the museum opened on 17 November 2021, the first anniversary of Hlach's death.

The display shows how trucks shaped daily work and industry across the region over many decades. Walking through, you see vehicles that some people still use today, which helps explain why this factory and its trucks matter so much to locals.

The museum has information boxes and labels in several languages so visitors from different countries can follow along easily. Plan to spend a few hours here to walk through the collection comfortably and read about each vehicle's details.

The building was completed in 1911 as a foundry for the Kopřivnice wagon works, later Tatra, and served production until the end of the 20th century. It was stripped back to its bare steel frame during the 2019–2020 conversion. The neighbouring Depozitář Slovenské strely won the Stavba roku 2021 award.
