Bučací vodopády

Bučací vodopády is a waterfall in the Beskydy Mountains featuring two successive drops over sandstone formations. The water tumbles down rocky faces surrounded by dense forest, creating a natural landmark within the protected mountain region.

The site received protection status in 2004 to preserve its geological structures and natural ecosystems. This designation acknowledged the importance of maintaining the area for future generations.

The waterfall represents a significant natural landmark within the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy region, forming part of the local hiking network.

The waterfall can be reached via a moderate hike starting from Ostravice village, with trails leading through the forest toward the higher elevations. Visitors should wear appropriate footwear as the terrain becomes rocky near the falls.

The water continuously erodes the softer layers beneath the resistant sandstone, creating overhangs at each drop. These geological processes are particularly visible here and show how flowing water reshapes stone.
