Bučací vodopády, Nature reserve waterfall in Beskydy Mountains, Czech Republic
The Bučací vodopády consists of two main drops measuring 3.6 and 6.4 meters, formed by solid layers of green-tinted Godula sandstone.
The natural area surrounding the waterfall received official protection status in 2004 to preserve its ecological systems and geological formations.
The waterfall represents a significant natural landmark within the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy region, forming part of the local hiking network.
Access requires a moderate hike from Ostravice village, following the red-marked trail toward Smrk peak before turning onto a forest path.
The falling water creates overhangs at both levels due to the distinct geological structure of eroding slate beneath resistant sandstone layers.
