Church of Saint Mary of Help, Roman Catholic church in Zlín, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Mary of Help stands on the Jižní Svahy housing estate in Zlín, in a large Salesian youth centre complex. Designed by architect Jan Kovář, it consists of three red-brick buildings with white facades arranged in a wide letter V, the central one being the church and the side wings club rooms. The shape reads as open arms when seen from the front, and the white interior seats 350.

Construction began with a ceremonial groundbreaking on 31 January 2000, the feast of St John Bosco, on the Jižní Svahy housing estate. The church, designed by architect Jan Kovář, was consecrated on 8 May 2003 by Olomouc Archbishop Jan Graubner.

The church holds weekly masses in Czech language and maintains a regular schedule of religious ceremonies for the local Catholic community.

The church stands in the Jižní Svahy housing estate on the northern edge of Zlín, not in the centre, so reach it by trolleybus or bus toward the sídliště. The V-shaped complex opens onto the estate's open space, with the entrance in the central wing between the two side tracts.

The slender tower holds three bells: Saint John Bosco, Saint Ludmila and Saint Adalbert. The largest, Saint John Bosco, measures almost one metre across and weighs 535 kg; sculptor Daniel Ignác Trubač decorated all three with reliefs tied to their namesakes.
