Zikmundova vila

Zikmundova vila is a functionalist residence in Zlín designed with a cubic shape and expansive windows that flood the interior with light. The three-story building contains living quarters on the upper floors, shared spaces on the ground level, and service areas including a garage and laundry room below.

The villa was constructed between 1934 and 1935 as a residence commissioned by a local administrative official. It later came into the ownership of a notable filmmaker who called it home.

The villa embodies the principles of functionalist design in how its rooms are arranged and furnished, with spaces made for simple daily living. Visitors can observe how every element was placed with purpose, reflecting the values of the era when form followed function.
