Praděd Tower, Observation tower and transmitter station in Malá Morávka, Czech Republic
Praděd Tower is a white concrete structure rising 146.5 meters (481 feet) in the Hrubý Jeseník range at an elevation of 1491 meters (4,892 feet). Inside you will find an observation deck, a restaurant, and broadcasting equipment.
A Gothic-style stone tower dating to 1912 once stood here but deteriorated from weather damage and collapsed in 1959. The current concrete structure was built to replace the damaged original.
The restaurant inside operates year-round at the highest altitude of any eatery in the country. People gather here to enjoy meals while taking in the views during their mountain visits.
An elevator takes you up to the observation deck at 73 meters (240 feet), where views stretch across to nearby mountains and distant peaks. The on-site restaurant stays open year-round, making it easy to take a break during your visit.
The peak of this tower is the highest artificial fixed point in the country, surpassing even Mount Sněžka's summit. Few visitors realize they are reaching a higher elevation here than at the nation's highest natural mountain.
