Lanová dráha Pisárky – Bohunice, Aerial lift in Pisárky district, Brno, Czech Republic.
The Lanová dráha Pisárky–Bohunice is an aerial cable system linking the Pisárky district with the Bohunice campus area. The route travels across a valley, carrying passengers between these two locations in the northern part of the city.
The project took shape around 2010 and was officially announced in 2014 as a solution to connect two important city areas. Its development reflected Brno's broader effort to improve regional connectivity.
The cable car integration into Brno's public transport system reflects the city's approach to connect educational facilities with exhibition spaces.
The system operates every day throughout the day and takes about five minutes to travel from one end to the other. Access is suitable for people with reduced mobility since the cabins are level with the platforms.
The supporting pylons are surrounded by cycling paths that create extra connections for cyclists throughout the area. This turns the infrastructure into more than just a pedestrian transport option.
