Kolej krále Václava, Bazar

Kolej krále Václava is a Gothic stone structure at Ovocný trh square displaying architectural hallmarks from the 14th century, including pointed arches and detailed facade treatment. The building exhibits typical medieval construction with thick walls and tall windows designed to illuminate the interior spaces.

The college was founded in 1381 by King Václav IV and operated as a teaching institution for the liberal arts at Charles University. It remained an important site for academic work throughout its long existence.

The building once served as a center for scholarly pursuits and today stands as a recognized monument reflecting the city's educational past. The structure testifies to the academic life that unfolded within its walls across generations.

The building is located at Ovocný trh 12 in Prague 1, situated in the heart of the Old Town among other medieval structures. The location is easily accessible on foot and fits naturally into a walking tour of the historic district.

Between 1604 and 1607, astronomer Johannes Kepler used an observation tower in the college garden to conduct his astronomical measurements. This made the location a center of early scientific research in Europe.
