The Flow Building, Modern office building in New Town Prague, Czech Republic
The Flow Building is a modern office complex at the intersection of Václavské náměstí and Opletalova in central Prague. It combines office and retail spaces in a carefully designed structure that serves both business and commercial functions.
The site was long occupied by the 1880 Dům U Turků and the abandoned Pražská akciová tiskárna, demolished in 2013. The land has belonged since 1994 to the investor Flow East, and construction of the new building ran from 2018 to its approval in July 2020. Demolition of Dům U Turků in 2017 drew protests from civic associations and the Uměleckohistorická společnost.
The name comes from the English word "flow", chosen by the developer to capture the movement of the city. The lower floors hold retail space, and in March 2019 Cushman & Wakefield leased part of it for the first Primark store in the Czech Republic.
The building sits in an easy-to-reach location with good access to public transportation and nearby shops and restaurants. Its central position makes it simple for visitors to explore other parts of the historic city center.
The site was long occupied by the 1880 House at the Turks, demolished in 2017 despite protests from the Art History Society and other groups. The land has belonged since 1994 to the private investor Flow East, and the project cost about 1.2 billion korunas.
