Larischův letohrádek

Larischův letohrádek is a two-story cylindrical summer residence in Horní Těrlicko. The structure combines a round main body with two single-room wings connected via a rear staircase, creating a compact layout with a flat roof.

The residence was built in the 1840s when Count Heinrich Larisch-Mönnich commissioned its construction. Local farmers participated in building the surrounding wall in exchange for daily meals provided by the estate.

The building displays Empire-style features with clean lines and symmetry that reflect aristocratic taste of its time. It served as the center of an estate that grew fruit and employed local workers in its operations.

The residence sits along a historic road that once connected Cieszyn to Polish Ostrava, making it reasonably accessible for those exploring the region. As a protected cultural monument, access may be limited, so planning ahead is advisable.

The building originally functioned as a hunting lodge and also housed the gardener who managed the noble fruit orchard on the grounds. This dual use reveals how aristocratic estates adapted their spaces to serve multiple purposes.
