New Hope Presbyterian Church
New Hope Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian church in Brunswick County, North Carolina, US
New Hope Presbyterian Church is a one-story wooden structure featuring Gothic Revival interior details and a gable-front roof supported by a brick foundation. The three-acre property includes a 1941 fellowship hall and an on-site cemetery for burials.
Built in 1895 by builder Cleve Lewis, the church blends Gothic Revival and Queen Anne architectural styles in its original design. A fellowship hall added in 1941 reflects how the congregation expanded its facilities as the community grew.
The church serves the community as a gathering place where local families have worshipped together across generations, making it meaningful to many people in the area.
The church is located on Cherrytree Road Northeast near Winnabow with ample grounds for parking and walking around the property. The large three-acre setting allows visitors to explore at a relaxed pace.
The building gained recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 for its architectural and historical importance to the region. This designation highlights its role as a structure worth preserving from the area's past.
