Coast Guard Air Station Sitka

Coast Guard Air Station Sitka is an aviation facility operated by the US Coast Guard in Southeast Alaska. The station maintains a fleet of helicopters and coordinates emergency response operations across vast water and land areas in the region.

The facility first began operations in the 1940s at a different location before moving to its current Sitka site in the 1970s. The relocation allowed for better positioning to respond to emergencies across Southeast Alaska.

The station forms an integral part of the Seventeenth District, where 130 officers, enlisted personnel, and civilians work together supporting maritime operations.
