M & O Chevrolet Company
The M & O Chevrolet Company Building is a gray commercial structure in Fayetteville built in 1937 and originally operated as an auto dealership and service garage. It features large garage bays, a wide front facade, and simple strong lines typical of early 20th century commercial design.
The building was constructed in 1937 as the town's first auto dealership, marking an important moment in Fayetteville's growth during the automobile era. In 2009 new owners acquired the property and undertook renovations that transformed it from a service garage into office space and eventually an event venue.
The name M & O Chevrolet reflects the original dealership that operated from the 1930s onward. Today the building functions as a community gathering space, with its large garage bays and open layout creating an informal venue for local events and celebrations.
The building sits on West Russell Street in an accessible location near other historic structures in town. The vast open interior space accommodates different uses, and the original doors and windows remain intact for viewing its period character.
The building was renovated and briefly used as Moore Exposure, a marketing company office, before being transformed into an event venue. This evolution shows how historic spaces gain new purposes while preserving their original character and scale for contemporary uses.
