International Art Museum of America

The International Art Museum of America displays paintings, sculptures, and jade works spread across multiple galleries in the South of Market district. The building holds a wide range of pieces from different artistic traditions and time periods.

The museum was founded in 2011 under the name Superb Art Museum of America before being renamed to better reflect its direction. The name change happened as the collection grew to include more international works.

The collection brings together works by Chinese masters Fu Baoshi and Qi Baishi alongside European painters Rosa Bonheur and Frits Thaulow. This mix invites visitors to see how artists from different parts of the world approached similar themes in their own ways.

The museum offers free admission and features accessible entrances and restrooms throughout the building. These facilities make it easy for visitors of all abilities to move through the galleries.

A garden space near the entrance features a pond, waterfall, and rock formations designed by artist Steve Blanchard. This outdoor setting offers a quiet contrast to the indoor galleries and shows how contemporary art extends beyond walls.
