The Junius R. Ward House is a two-story residence with white columns on a 5-acre property in Washington County, Mississippi. The structure features classical architectural elements that represent early domestic construction in the region.

Built in 1830 by Kentucky planter Junius R. Ward, this house remains the oldest standing residence in Washington County. Its construction marked an important moment in the settlement and development of the area.

The house passed in 1877 to Matilda Ward, who married John Erwin, the original owner of Mount Holly at Foote, Mississippi. The painter George Caleb Bingham made her portrait, and it still hangs on a wall inside the house. The Erwin name, used as an alternative for the house, comes from this marriage.

The house stands in Erwin, Washington County, Mississippi, and is a private residence rather than a museum, so it is seen from the road. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the owners' privacy should be respected. There is no visitor entrance or interior tour.

Before the brick house rose, a log cabin stood on the same spot; its hewn logs remain in the attic, where they were kept when the 1827–1830 construction replaced the earlier dwelling. The cabin predates the house that Junius R. Ward, a Kentucky planter, built using the forced labor of enslaved people.
