Millennium Tower was erected in 1994 as one of a trio of buildings by Millennium Partners known collectively as Lincoln Square. It was designed by James Carpenter and occupies the full block bounded by Broadway, Columbus Avenue, and 67th and 68th Streets.
Millennium Tower is one of three buildings by Millennium Partners grouped as Lincoln Square, a name it shares with the nearby performing arts complex. Its lower levels hold retail space and a multi-screen cinema, while the 305 apartments begin on the 44th floor.
