Manhattan New York Temple

The Manhattan New York Temple is a modern religious building housed within a commercial structure at Columbus Avenue and spanning six floors. The structure features granite exterior walls and a distinctive steeple crowned with an angel statue.

This temple opened in 2004 as the 119th temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Construction began in September 2002 and took approximately two years to complete.

The temple includes two endowment rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry where members perform religious ceremonies following Mormon traditions.

The temple is located on the fourth floor at 125 Columbus Avenue. Visitors must have a current temple recommend to gain entry to the interior.

The temple features specialized soundproofing systems designed to shield worshippers from the constant noise of New York City streets. This acoustic engineering allows for a quiet setting within the loud urban environment.
