5 West 63rd Street, YMCA building in Upper West Side, Manhattan, US
The fourteen-story structure at 5 West 63rd Street features brick, limestone, and terra cotta materials with varied window designs throughout its Neo-Romanesque facade.
Constructed between 1928 and 1930, the building replaced seven five-story brick rowhouses and became an essential part of the Upper West Side/Central Park West Historic District.
The West Side YMCA provides accommodation, fitness programs, and recreational activities while hosting educational events that connect residents of different backgrounds.
Located near Central Park's western edge, the building offers swimming pools, gyms, and group fitness classes with easy access to public transportation.
The steel frame construction incorporates four-over-four double-hung wooden windows and arched multi-pane designs across its dark brown exterior.
