The brick courthouse features limestone trim, fluted panels, and a stepped appearance with a large central block flanked by two-story wings.
Built in 1934 under the Public Works Administration, this structure represents the fifth courthouse on this site after previous buildings suffered fires.
The courthouse grounds display a World War I memorial sculpture and a marker honoring Hattie Caraway, the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate.
Located at 511 Main Street in central Jonesboro, the courthouse maintains official records and conducts county administrative functions for Craighead County.
The building incorporates fireproof storage vaults, a feature added after three previous courthouses burned down with the loss of county records.
