John H. Adams House, High Point, North Carolina, listed on the NRHP in Guilford County, North Carolina

The John H. Adams House is a two-story residence on North Main Street in High Point, built in 1918 in Italian Renaissance style. It features five sections across its front facade with stucco finish, a low sloped roof with wide overhanging eaves, and a three-part front porch with semicircular arches.

The house was built in 1918 for John Hampton Adams, a businessman who built a major hosiery company with his wife Elizabeth. After the family moved out in 1931, it served various purposes including as a funeral home and narrowly escaped demolition in 1997 before being converted into a boutique inn in the early 2000s.

The house bears the name of John Hampton Adams, a prominent businessman whose family shaped the hosiery industry in the region. It reflects the wealth and social standing that shaped early High Point society during the early 20th century.

The house sits centrally on North Main Street and is easily accessible on foot, with nearby shops and restaurants within walking distance. The surrounding area is active with local businesses, making it convenient to explore the neighborhood while visiting.

The property once served as the Davis Funeral Home and narrowly escaped demolition in 1997 when it was nearly torn down to make way for a fast-food restaurant. Its rescue led to a full restoration that preserved its original character while transforming it into a 31-room boutique inn featuring furniture collected from around the world.
