Oakdale Cotton Mill Village, Industrial heritage site in Jamestown, United States.

Oakdale Cotton Mill Village is an industrial complex in Jamestown containing factory, warehouse, and residential buildings from the late 1800s and early 1900s. The site features a three-story brick office building, an L-shaped factory with a four-story tower, multiple warehouses, a blacksmith shop, worker cottages, and industrial-era infrastructure spread across the grounds.

The Logan Manufacturing Company established the complex in the 1880s as a cotton processing center. Worker housing expanded significantly in the early 1900s with the construction of 33 cottages, reflecting the operation's growth and the need to house employees on site.

The mill village embodies the role of textile production in shaping community life, with worker housing and workshops that reveal how families lived and worked together. These buildings show the tight-knit structure of industrial towns where the factory dominated daily rhythms.

Allow time to walk through the different zones since the factory, warehouses, and worker housing are spread across the property. Starting with the main industrial buildings and working outward toward the residential areas helps you understand how the community was organized.

The mill operated continuously until 2006, making it one of the longest-running textile operations in the region spanning more than a century. This extended operational life means the site preserves an entire industrial community frozen in time with its original infrastructure still intact.
