Fox Haven Plantation

Fox Haven Plantation is an early 19th-century brick residence with three bedrooms and five bathrooms set on about 22 acres of land. The property includes two separate guest cottages and maintains its original historical features.

The main house was built in 1823 and named after a Native American called Fox who warned settlers of an approaching raid. The structure later survived a major earthquake and retained much of its original form.

The Federal style architecture shows how well-to-do families built their homes in early 19th-century North Carolina. The layout and craftsmanship reflect how people of that era lived and valued their spaces.

The house is located in a rural area and is easily accessible by car. The setting is quiet and provides a good sense of historical life in North Carolina's Piedmont region.

The house survived the major 1886 earthquake nearly intact and retained its original three-bay design with interior chimneys. That same earthquake devastated much of Charleston, yet this structure remained stable.
