Goodwin Hotel, Hotel in den Vereinigten Staaten
The Goodwin Hotel is a hotel in downtown Hartford, Connecticut, set inside a late 19th-century brick building. Each room and suite is decorated individually, mixing original architectural features with up-to-date comfort.
The building was constructed in 1881 as a private townhouse for one of Hartford's wealthy families. Over the following decades it was gradually converted into a hotel, keeping much of the original structure intact.
The hotel takes its name from the Goodwin family, who were among Hartford's prominent 19th-century residents. Walking through the lobby, guests can still spot original decorative details that recall the building's origins as a private home.
The hotel sits in downtown Hartford, so most nearby attractions, restaurants, and theaters are reachable on foot. Hartford Union Station is also within walking distance, making it easy to arrive or leave without a car.
The hotel has Bar Max, a bar and restaurant just off the lobby that is known for its cocktails. What many guests do not realize is that the space still uses sections of the original wall paneling from the old townhouse as part of its decor.
