FraenkelLAB was a satellite space at 1632 Market Street, separate from the Geary Street gallery, and ran only from 2016 through 2017. Its inaugural show, Home Improvements, was curated by filmmaker John Waters; later exhibitions featured Richard T. Walker, David Benjamin Sherry, Sophie Calle, Katy Grannan and Alec Soth.
