Glasslands Gallery, Music venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, United States
Glasslands Gallery was a music venue housed in a converted warehouse at 289 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The space held roughly 300 people and featured an LED installation mounted above the stage.
The venue was founded in 2006 by musician Rolyn Hu and artist Brooke Baxter as an all-ages space without alcohol service. Management changed to Popgun Presents in 2008, which expanded programming before Vice Media acquired the building in 2014.
The space served as a launching pad for emerging indie and electronic musicians to reach audiences in New York. Visitors experienced performances that shaped the city's music scene during that era.
The venue was easily accessible from nearby transit and located among other galleries and restaurants in the Williamsburg area. The interior was designed for optimal viewing of performances from most positions in the space.
The space started as an all-ages venue without alcohol service, making it distinct from other Brooklyn music clubs at the time. This approach attracted younger listeners and provided a different kind of experience than typical concert halls.
