The Marin Museum of Bicycling occupies a building in Fairfax, California, and holds three main collections: the Igler Collection of 19th-century bicycles, a Vintage Road Bike Collection, and the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame Collection. Notable machines include an 1868 Pierre Michaux velocipede, an 1886 Rudge high-wheeler, a 1978 Breezer Series 1, and the 2014 Specialized Tarmac ridden by Vincenzo Nibali in his Tour de France win.

The museum was founded in 2013 by volunteers to preserve bicycle history through exhibits and long-term loans. The oldest bikes in the collection date to 1868 and show the beginning of modern bicycle technology.

The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame was founded in 1988 in Crested Butte, Colorado, and moved to Fairfax in 2014, recognizing pioneers of a sport rooted in Marin County. Its displays hold historic mountain bikes, photographs and riders' stories, including Kate Courtney's 2018 world championship bike, shown beside machines of Nino Schurter and Myles Rockwell.

The museum grew out of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, founded in Crested Butte, Colorado, in 1988 and moved to Fairfax in 2014, two years before the museum's own opening. Its Hall of Fame display holds the 1978 Breezer Series 1, described as the first purpose-built mountain bike, and the 1979 Cunningham CCProto, the first aluminium mountain bike.
