Crystal Spring Farm
Crystal Spring Farm is a large agricultural property in Brunswick with open fields, wooded areas, and several historic buildings dating mainly from the 20th century. The complex includes a main house, barns, sheds, and a silo that form the working layout of a traditional farmstead.
The Woodside family farmed the land starting in 1783 for about 120 years before it became a dairy operation in the early 1900s. A fire destroyed older structures in 1946, leading to new buildings that may have included materials from a nearby naval air station.
The name 'Crystal Spring' comes from a clear spring of water on the property that was vital to the farm's early days. Water from this spring supported crops and animals, and visitors can still see its connection to the working landscape.
The property features marked walking trails through fields and woods with designated parking areas available for visitors. Guests should stay on marked paths and respect that some areas may be leased or privately owned.
A historic clock tower on the property contains the original clock from the old Brunswick Town Hall that was demolished in the 1960s. This timepiece links the farm's story directly to the town's architectural past and local heritage.
