Runnymede Sculpture Farm, Contemporary sculpture garden in Woodside, United States
Runnymede Sculpture Farm is a contemporary sculpture garden spread across 120 acres with roughly 140 modern works positioned along winding trails through wooded areas. The sculptures are placed to highlight the natural setting and turn the forest into an open-air art experience.
Alma Spreckels Rosekrans purchased the property in 1930 and named it after her father's stallion. The site later evolved into a center for displaying modern art and fostering artistic exploration outdoors.
The collection brings together works by established and emerging artists whose large-scale pieces explore diverse artistic ideas. As you walk through the grounds, you encounter different artistic perspectives and ways of seeing the landscape.
This is a private property that requires advance booking to visit. You receive a map upon arrival that marks all the dirt paths so you can navigate through the grounds on your own.
Several sculptures are visible from Interstate 280, catching the eye of passing drivers unexpectedly. These chance artistic encounters along the highway make the place a talking point for travelers in the region.
