Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel

Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel is an International Style synagogue with a rectangular structure built from pre-cast concrete panels. The interior features 286 narrow Belgian stained glass windows that create distinctive colored light effects throughout the space.

The congregation began in 1887 when Jewish families gathered privately to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, which led to its formal establishment. This founding marked the start of a continuous religious community in the area.
