Between 1939 and 1967, the property served as a winter headquarters for circus operations, featuring specialized barns for elephants and large cats.
The site represents the traditional American circus industry through its dedicated facilities for animal care, training spaces, and performance preparation areas.
The Indiana Department of Transportation demolished the structures in 2021 to improve traffic flow conditions along US 31 between Indianapolis and South Bend.
The property contained a wild animal graveyard active from 1945 to 1970 and marked the birthplace of Tony, a white tiger.
