Indiana Oxygen Company
Indiana Oxygen Company, Industrial heritage building in Indianapolis, United States
The Indiana Oxygen Company building features a two-story rectangular main structure with brick construction and an attached one-story U-shaped warehouse at 351 South East Street.
Built in 1930 by Fatout Building Construction Company, this industrial facility manufactured hydrogen and oxygen, becoming the first such producer in Indianapolis.
The structure exhibits Art Deco architectural elements through its limestone and metal decorations, representing early 20th-century industrial development in Indianapolis.
The building spans less than one acre and maintains its position on the National Register of Historic Places since March 1987 under reference number 87000545.
The company established the longest sponsorship connection with Indianapolis 500, providing welding services since 1966 and maintaining ties to racing since 1911.
