Juneau Park, Urban park in East Town district, Milwaukee, United States
Juneau Park sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan with walking trails and landscaped areas throughout downtown Milwaukee. The space runs along the waterfront edge and features both open lawn sections and tree-lined pathways.
The park was named after Solomon Juneau, Milwaukee's first mayor, whose monument from 1887 stands in the grounds today. Over time, it grew into an important green space project that shaped how the city connected to its waterfront.
The park draws people together for outdoor gatherings and seasonal beer gardens, especially during warmer months when community events fill the grounds. Local residents use the space to enjoy live music and performances without traveling far from downtown.
The park has several entry points and is accessible from different streets around downtown Milwaukee. Walking paths are open year-round, though the bluff terrain means some areas have steeper slopes that require normal hiking ability.
A statue of Leif Erikson created by sculptor Anne Whitney in 1887 stands in the park as a replica of an identical monument in Boston. This Viking figure is an unexpected addition next to the memorial for the city's local founder.
