Paradise Garden, Folk art garden in Summerville, Georgia, United States.
Paradise Garden is a roughly 2.5-acre garden in Summerville featuring buildings, sculptures, and thousands of objects arranged in artistic installations, including a tower made of hubcaps. The collection displays religious artwork and decorative structures that fill the entire space.
Baptist minister Howard Finster founded Paradise Garden in 1961, initially naming it Plant Farm Museum. He created approximately 46,000 religious artworks there until 2001.
The chapel in the garden displays religious messages and Bible verses expressed in unconventional artistic ways. Visitors see a blend of spiritual belief and personal artistic vision reflected in every detail.
The garden sits in central Summerville and offers visitors guided tours as well as overnight stays in an artist cottage. The site also has event spaces for groups of up to around 250 people.
One section of the garden incorporates colored glass shards into concrete sculptures, while mirrors throughout the property create reflective effects. These details add unexpected visual depth as visitors move through different areas.
