Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple, Hindu temple in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is a Hindu temple in Johor Bahru where roughly 300,000 colored glass tiles cover the interior surfaces. Walls, pillars, and ceilings display these mosaics, which scatter and reflect light throughout the space.
The site began in 1922 as a modest shelter built on land donated by the Sultan of Johor. Major renovation work added the glass covering between 2008 and 2009.
The temple reflects a mix of spiritual traditions through its statues representing different religions and faiths. Visitors from various backgrounds recognize figures meaningful to their own beliefs when they walk through.
The temple sits between Jalan Tun Abdul Razak and Jalan Mohd Taib near Tebrau Highway, making it straightforward to locate. Visitors should wear modest clothing and plan to arrive during standard visiting times.
This is Malaysia's only glass temple with about ninety percent of its exterior covered in glass elements. The record appears in Malaysia's official record book, making it the country's sole example of this kind.
