Dayabumi Complex, Commercial skyscraper in Central Business District, Malaysia

The Dayabumi Complex is a 35-storey tower on Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, near Masjid Negara and the old railway station. Its light grey facade is a dense grid of small openings split into eight narrow bands by smooth vertical ribs, with white arched frames above the base. The complex also holds the General Post Office and links to the KTM Komuter and LRT/MRT stations.

Construction began in 1982 on the site of former railway repair workshops, with the building opening in 1984. Its completion marked an important shift in Kuala Lumpur's development as a modern business center.

The tower's design draws on Islamic architecture: an eight-pointed star motif, arched gateway forms and a patterned lower base, as seen in the facade's grid of small openings between vertical ribs. The name Dayabumi was adopted in 1979, before construction started on 14 February 1982. The General Post Office in the complex opened on 30 October 1984.

The complex sits near Pasar Seni LRT Station and offers ample parking throughout the building. Good transit connections make it easy to reach whether you arrive by public transportation or car.
