Mines Wellness City, integrated Health and Wellness resort township in Selangor, Malaysia
Mines Wellness City is a leisure development in Seri Kembangan built on the site of a former tin mining area, housing hotels, shopping facilities, and wellness amenities. The complex includes multiple hotels with lakeside settings and gardens, a major shopping mall, a convention center, and a golf club.
The site was once the world's largest open cast tin mine and was given by the government to Country Heights Holdings in 1988 to be developed into a leisure and wellness destination. This conversion from an industrial site to a tourism area marks a major shift in land use following the end of mining operations.
The name reflects the site's transformation from an industrial mining area into a health and leisure destination for the region. Visitors today experience this shift through the architecture and the peaceful lakeside setting that defines its purpose as a place for restoration.
The site is easily accessible by car via the Besraya Expressway and is close to the KTM Serdang train station, which has bus connections to the area. Some areas are walkable from the train station, though others may need a short drive or taxi ride to reach.
The hotel offers water sports such as water skiing and wakeboarding on a calm lake, a rare activity near Kuala Lumpur city. This is one of the few places in the region where visitors can try these sports directly on site.
