Istana Melawati, Royal palace in Putrajaya, Malaysia
Istana Melawati features three tall towers that mark its architectural design along with prominent three-tiered roofs adorned with traditional clay ornaments.
The construction of this royal retreat began in 1999 and reached completion in 2002 under the supervision of Perbadanan Putrajaya as the main contractor.
The palace incorporates traditional Malay architectural elements throughout its structure, including the Balai Rong Seri which functions as the ceremonial Throne Room.
While the interior remains closed to regular visitors, the exterior and surrounding gardens can be viewed from designated public areas during daylight hours.
The Meeting Wing contains a substantial staircase constructed from chengal wood, topped with a golden roof that demonstrates Malaysian craftsmanship.
