IOI City Farm, Indoor zoo and petting zoo in Sepang, Malaysia
IOI City Farm is an indoor zoo and petting zoo in Sepang, Malaysia, spread across two floors inside IOI City Mall. It is organized into several zones covering animals, plants, and aquatic life, including a dedicated insect section and a freshwater area with fish and aquatic creatures.
IOI City Farm was developed as an educational and leisure space within the IOI City Mall complex in Sepang, opening to the public in late August. The Insectopia section was created with the help of a university, showing that a connection to research was part of the original vision.
IOI City Farm is divided into named zones like Little Rimba, where visitors can watch prairie dogs, raccoons, and chickens, and Freshwater World, where you can touch koi and guppies. This hands-on contact with animals is the main reason many families with young children come here.
Since the farm is inside a shopping mall, it is easy to reach on foot from nearby shops and restaurants, making it simple to combine with other activities. The paths are smooth and flat, so strollers and wheelchairs can move through without difficulty.
The farm contains a zone called Glocave, a dark room with glowing lights and colorful wall art that has nothing to do with a typical zoo but is one of the most popular spots for photos. The aquaponics section also shows how fish and plants grow together in a shared water system, something more often seen in research settings than in a family attraction.
