Monorail Suspension Bridge

The Monorail Suspension Bridge is a suspension structure in Putrajaya that spans across Putrajaya Lake, linking the Convention Centre to the Government Administrative Complex. Steel cables support the deck and guide the monorail vehicles that travel across it regularly.

Construction began in the early 2000s and the bridge opened in 2003 as part of Putrajaya's development into a modern administrative center. The project faced temporary funding constraints but continued as a key infrastructure piece for the city.

The bridge connects two important government zones and remains a key part of daily movement through Putrajaya's administrative areas. Its presence shapes how visitors and workers navigate between these separate districts.

This bridge is reserved for monorail transport and is not open to pedestrians or regular vehicles. You can view and photograph it from the adjoining administrative areas and lakeside paths.

The structure merges traditional suspension bridge engineering with monorail technology, a combination rarely seen outside advanced transportation hubs. This hybrid design demonstrates how two separate systems were integrated into one functional structure.
