Iskandariah Bridge, Steel arch bridge in Kuala Kangsar, Malaysia.

Iskandariah Bridge is a steel arch bridge crossing the Perak River in Kuala Kangsar, connecting the town with surrounding communities. The structure carries two traffic lanes and includes pedestrian pathways for people traveling between both sides.

Construction finished in 1932 after a severe flood in December 1931 destroyed the previous pontoon bridge. This new structure was designed to withstand the river's forces and provide reliable passage for the region.

The structure connects communities along Federal Route 1, serving as a primary transportation link between Jalan Kuala Kangsar and Ipoh.

Keep in mind this is a major traffic route and can be crowded during peak hours. A pedestrian area exists, but it is wise to walk carefully during busy times.

The bridge crosses the river at significant height, with the deck about 20 meters above the water level. This elevation was necessary to avoid flood events that had previously disrupted transportation.
