The Exchange 106, Office building in Tun Razak Exchange, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Exchange 106 is an office tower in Tun Razak Exchange, rising as one of the tallest structures in Malaysia and dominating the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The glass and steel facade forms a slender tower with a sharp geometric crown that lights up at night and remains visible across the city.
Construction began in 2016 and required one of the world's largest continuous concrete pours for the foundation, lasting several days. The tower was completed in 2019 as part of the wider development of the Tun Razak Exchange financial district.
The Exchange 106 represents Malaysia's growing financial sector, establishing Kuala Lumpur as a major business center in Southeast Asia through its modern architecture.
The tower houses offices and is not open to the public, but its form and lighting can be viewed from several vantage points across the city. The best views come in the evening when the illuminated crown stands out against the dark sky.
The facade uses a self-cleaning glass system that relies on rainwater to wash away dirt and keep the surface clear. Part of the roof collects rainwater for use in the building's sanitary facilities, reducing reliance on municipal water supplies.
