Qasr Al Muwaiji

Qasr Al Muwaiji is a square clay fortress in Al Ain, built with guard towers at the corners. The complex contains multiple rooms for living and administration that showcase traditional building methods and local materials.

The fortress was founded in 1946 as a residence for the ruler's representative, marking the start of a new administrative phase. It was later preserved and converted into a museum to document this period of regional history.

This fortress served as a residence for the ruling family and reflects their role in shaping the region. The exhibits inside tell stories of decisions and events that transformed daily life in the area.

The site is easy to reach and the rooms are open to explore, with information panels explaining what you see. It is best visited in the late afternoon when the light is better for taking photos.

The surrounding oasis with thousands of date palms is part of an ancient irrigation system still working today. This system shows how people here have used water in the desert for centuries.
