Skanderbeg Monument, Bronze monument in Skanderbeg Square, Tirana, Albania.
The equestrian statue depicts Skanderbeg on horseback with his sword raised, standing 11 meters high on a stone pedestal in central Tirana.
Created by sculptors Odhise Paskali, Andrea Mano, and Janaq Paço, the monument was inaugurated in 1968 to mark 500 years since Skanderbeg's death.
The monument represents George Kastrioti Skanderbeg, who led Albanian resistance against Ottoman forces for over two decades in the fifteenth century.
The monument stands in the middle of Skanderbeg Square, near the National History Museum and the Et'hem Bey Mosque in downtown Tirana.
The base of the monument contains relief sculptures depicting various scenes from Skanderbeg's military campaigns and his life as a resistance leader.
